Welcome to Dixie's Chicks. We are a family owned and operated small farm specializing in Chickens and Guinea fowl. Our mission is to provide happy healthy chickens to the communities we serve. We strive to be as natural and organic as possible. Our chickens are housed in a "coop town" type setting where they all have access to a large fenced run protected from predators. They are also free ranged on several acres-- supervised of course to keep the fox away!
My husband and I moved here in 2015 and took our time preparing the land and making a safe haven for our kids and our livestock. We pride ourselves in the quality of life our farm animals--and people-- lead. Our love for the land and the animals is why we present our fowl friends for purchase. We have not shipped hatching eggs as of yet and have not shipped this year (2020) with all the delivery snafus.. but will consider resuming shipments when the postal service can deliver in a safe manner to your door.
We separate our breeds when hatching to ensure pure breeding and check the health of each chick. We breed to enhance each line and pass on quality chicks to you! We do hatch "backyard" chickens when the flock is intermingling for a little variety-- with those you just never know what you might get-- but if you are looking for a rainbow of eggs then those babies are a good option for you.
We grow a good amount of our feed and purchase feed from our local Amish grain mill.

Our hours are flexible. We live where we work. Basic operating hours for walk-in visiting of the farm are from 10am to Dark or 5pm, whichever comes first. Additional times can be arranged with notice.
